  1. Cheryl Farrell, Storytelling for Organizations

Bountiful Reference Guide for Black Women’s Wellness
True to the book’s title, “Take Care: The Black Woman’s Guide to Wellness” is a reference resource. Organized to share insight from Ms. Pierre’s view of the world, there are recurring reminders that Black women need not go it alone. I like the premise of the book that says a perfunctory valediction “take care” leaves little for people to actually get the care they need. The phrase has come to mean, “Good luck ’cause you’re on your own.” This book is chock full of advice and inspirational content. My only wish is for in-depth personal stories (a lite memoir) to give context for, and to credential, the advice. Otherwise, it is a worthwhile read, particularly for young women.

I couldn’t wait for this book to arrive. It’s filled with so much wisdom.

  3. Amazon Customer

This book is just what we need! A few chapters in, I had to buy another copy to send to my mum. Chloe talks about a range of topics, giving light to the shared experiences of Black women in a thoughtful yet lighthearted way, and shares practical wellness tips that we can use to start making change right away. A really lovely and easy read for Black women of all ages and backgrounds.
