    Stiff Sneaker
Now that I’ve had these for a month now, and wear them 12 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week, I feel confident they’ve had time to break in. Initially, they were a little stiff. I expected them to be a little tight, so I ordered half a size larger than regular sneakers, but I realized that appears unnecessary as there is plenty of room in the toe. After a couple of days I started to feel a seam in the liner that was bothering me across my little toe, and I was not wearing these every day yet, but I decided to press on to see if they broke in by wearing them daily and eventually I forgot about it. When I remembered I realized they were no longer bothering me. That was about a week. I’ve now worn them four weeks.I spray them with Tinactin deodorant after every use, because my foot gets fairly wet with sweat after 12 hours and I’ve previously had trouble with athletes foot. I know fungus can build up in shoes worn too often, and this can not only cause athletes foot, but also break down the material in the shoe itself. The shoe needs to dry out between uses. Also worth noting, the memory foam insole is comfortable, but not my preference. It is not however, removable, and there is insufficient space to double-up insoles. I have run in these a fair distance and short jaunts, and kicks, and side-stepping and have never felt the steel toe. The sole is stiff and squeaks on some surfaces, and walking through puddles causes no leaks. The top is tuff also, minor scrapes cause no damage. Of course YMMV, I wear these in a warehouse only and change in the car. They are a little dusty from the black dust in the warehouse, but no dirt or mud. Mud and salts can dry the material and cause cracking and rotting. How some have reported such damage so quickly I cannot say, but these appear to hold up very well for my usage, although I do believe the insole will be the first to go. Which is why I don’t like memory foam for insoles. They are great for comfort for a large variety of foot shapes, but they are not as durable as a specific-shaped insoles. I plan on getting a black pair to alternate with these. The only desires I have in these is a composite toe that doesn’t set off a metal detector, and a lower price. I ordered the beige style that is somehow twice the price of the black style. I don’t know the difference as to why. $50 is outstanding, $90 is worth it, but why pay more?Update 6/14/24After about six months the insoles finally crapped out. When I finally got around to ripping them out they came out easily, I guess the glue broke down over time. Now with new insoles they are fully functional again and the outer is still in good condition, see image.

Good, solid, comfortable shoes but very, very heavy.
I got tired of my normal athletic shoes going bad from the stress of daily use on the job, so I went looking under the search term “durable work shoes.” (Looking via Duck and Swisscows and Qwant, mind you, not via Amazon’s own search fields, which, inexplicably, continue to be left as almost 100% useless.)Inevitably, nothing that was classified as a.) a shoe and b.) “durable” was available without a steel toe, so I relented and bought these. For the record: The heaviest thing I’m likely to drop on my feet is a disk of Lanthanum/Telluride alloy (or maybe Silicon/Germanium,) that’s roughly the size, shape and weight of a U.S. Nickel, so I’m not really in need of steel-toed shoes. But if you want “durable,” apparently you have to get the Medieval Class toe box, so I just bought them.I don’t know if it’s just the steel toe or a combination of that and the heavier-duty rubber and upper material, but these shoes are seriously heavy. Not a big problem if you like the added exercise, but it would be great if shoe manufacturers would offer a version of the exact same work shoe with all of the exact same materials, but without the mëtal hardware. But I knew that going in so…These are excellent shoes despite the weight. I have wide feet and they’re available in EE width (if they hadn’t been I simply would not have bought them, because “you can’t be cool if your feet are uptight,” as the old Hush Puppies ad used to say.) They’re built like tanks but are perfectly comfortable nonetheless, and I’m on my feet roughly 80% of every nine-hour workday.I got my normal size and width, and even with a pair of podiatrist-prescribed orthotic inserts and Odor-Eater pads, they fit perfectly. When I put them on in the morning the toe areas do feel tight, but the inserts settle within minutes and they’re a perfect fit thereafter. So be aware that if you do not use any kind of insert these might be a little roomy. The laces are also heavy-duty and the eyelets for them allow you to tighten them without messing with the loop-by-loop finger-pull thing – but neither do they let loose too easily – all of which I like lots.Given the excellent price, durability and fit, I’m really happy that I picked these. Time will tell how well they’ll hold up, but I’ve been wearing them on the job for two months and they still look and feel brand-new. I’m on hands and knees and crawling into the guts of systems and lab equipment frequently, and though the inevitable dirt is there, I don’t even see so much as a scuff on the outer surfaces, anywhere. Good shoes, if seriously heavy in the weight class.

Most comfortable steel toe shoes ever!!!
The Skechers mens canton steel toe shoes are the most comfortable steel toes I have ever worn. I’m on my feet at least 10 hours a day and these are a dream! The support is perfect, it feels like you are walking on air. There is even some kind of padding below the steel as well so your toes don’t rub. I wish I would have purchased these years ago. The memory foam feels great on the bottom of your feet and they seem to be made very well. I’ll update a year from now to see how they hold up but they are worth every dollar and then some. My feet don’t hurt at all at the end of the day, now I just need somethingfor my back! 5 stars +++. Thank you Skechers!

These shoes are great. Comfortable and fit my needs perfect.
I work for an IT company that supports manufacturing. I’m required for wear steel toed shoes when visiting plants. These shoes are prefect. They look and feel just like my regular Skechers. Will continue to buy these as needed.

    It’s like walking on clouds
They fit exceptionally well, especially the width in the wides. I’m on my feet 8-10 hours a day and these are extremely comfortable. That memory foam sole is great. I’m actually surprised at how well it lasted.Unfortunately, the rest of the shoe doesn’t hold up very well. My brother and I are both mechanics, we both bought pairs, and both lasted about a year before they started showing bad wear and about another 6 months before they needed replaced.I’m still giving them 5 stars though. For the price, I don’t mind getting a new pair every year or so. I’ve worn plenty of high end, expensive boots. I’ve gone through several pairs of that wing brand in the last 20 years. Honest truth? These won’t last nearly as long, but they are much, much more comfortable.

I found difficulties to have and safety shoes that fit to my comfort. This is the best so far. Widier and lightier than any other safety boots. Just be carefull with size selection. I normally used EU 45 but it was recommended by old costumer to choose 43.5 for my size and indeed correct
